Last weekend was the Native American Paumanauke Powwow in Long Island, NY – with ethnic clothing, sterling silver jewelry with turquoise, wampum and paua shells to traditional dances ranging from North and South American tribes and for the first time I saw the Taino – indigenous peoples of Puerto Rico (my own ancestry)!
I enjoyed the crafts, music and dances! It was exciting and colorful. These are pictures I took of the festival:
