The Storm Bird

Several violent storms rolled in from the West. Thunder roared like a lion, torrential rain which flowed like a blanket from the heavens and hail that sounded like stones. The morning was dark, but then the sun peaked out and shone brilliantly – drying and warming the land.

Then the turquoise sky darkened as the ominous clouds returned, making threatening growls…

Suddenly, a large white bird appeared from the approaching storm…

It flew gracefully with hardly any effort, as it glided across the remaining sunlight.

It’s massive wings sailed like a kite, as the elegant white bird drifted in the sky.

The storm bird disappeared off into the distance, with the thunder close behind…

*The white bird is a Great Egret which flew above our house.
