Sketch of the Week: Ama-no-jaku

Got this cool Japanese brush pen yesterday. It’s much easier (and less messy) than using the traditional brush and the ink stone! I’m really enjoying using it! Think I’ll be drawing more mythical beasts with it in sumi-e style. This creature is from Japanese folklore and is called an ama-no-jaku.

Ama-no-jaku (天邪鬼 (あまのじゃく) is a wicked yokai (demon) resembling a small oni and lives to be a nuisance towards people and is said to read human thoughts.
